TREADMILL4PRH PROJECT

The gym at the Princess Royal Hospital Telford provides rehabilitation exercise for patients recovering from operations, accidents, and cardiac incidents, and has two Life Fitness 9500hr treadmills which are an essential part of the exercise program.

Christmas Day at Farcroft

Father Christmas, otherwise known as President John Wardle, visited Farcrodt on North Road, Wellington to distribute gifts and good cheer on Christmas morning.  Father Christmas was accompanied by his elves who arrived from the distant lands of Much Wenlock, Ellerdine, Norwich and Greece.

Christmas Lunch 2017

The Rotary Club of Wellington Christmas Lunch on 15th December welcomed the bringer of the Christmas Message, Vicky Longbone, the Church Related Community Work Minister from Derby.

At the Christmas Lunch of the Rotary Club of Wellington on 15th December 2017 Rotarian John Wardle was inducted as a Paul Harris Fellow by President Brain Richards.  

Carols at Farcroft

Rotarians were joined by members of Wellington Inner Wheel, friends and partners to sing Christmas Carols to residents of Farcroft in Wellington.   Farcroft Assistant Manager Louisa Flanaghan thanked everyone for coming to Farcroft.  She said,"The residents always look forward to Wellington Rotary coming to sing Carols at Christmas.

At Work in an Eye Hospital

Previous speaker Satinder Sidhu has sent the club a photograph of him at work in an Eye Hospital in Sierra Leone.  

Satinder had informed the Club about the work of Vision Aid, particularly with reference to his visit to Sierra Leone as a volunteer helping to allieviate eye problems of the inhabitants. The Club subsequently donated £250 to Satinder's project.

Carols at Oakwood

Rotarians were joined by members of Wellington Inner Wheel, friends and partners to sing Christmas Carols to residents of Oakwood in Wellington.  The event was led by Chris Yates with accompaniment by Robyn Davies and Christine Hollis.

New Members

On Friday 24th November In the presence of District 1210 Governor Carol Reilly and AG Margaret Clewly, Rotary Club of Wellington President Brian Richards welcomed two news members into the Club.  Maureen Ward and Sophie Yates were introduced to the Club by their proposers and then inducted into membership of Rotary International.

Attending the Tree of Light

The Rotary Telford Tree of Light, now in the 4th week of the 2017 campaign, has so far remembered over 3500 loved ones and raised over £27,500 for local charities. Chair of the organising committee Max Clowes said, “I am very pleased with progress so far which is ahead of last year’s record figures.”
