Wrekin Riders BMX received a grant from the Fairbourne fund which enabled the club to have a team building day at a trampoline park with coaching. Kirsty Smallman explained how important this was to the children invovled as they were able to play with each other instead of competing covered by their helmets.
Kirsty presented the history of the club and explained that BXC riding is not necessarily for the expert, but is very therapeutic for all ages. Beginers can start on a special flat track with push along bikes, there are even adult size bikes for the more mature.
Bikes and essential safety equipement can be hired so it is not necessary to spend a lot to take part. The club takes all ages to national races with some success. In fact they are off to Blackpool this weekend for the British Championships, we wish you every success.
